Medicines convocate block of visas in Bolivia in retaliation to Ley de Emergencia Sanitaria

(CNN Español) – Bolivia’s doctors are meeting at a meeting of activists from 19 February on the occasion of the Emergency Health Sanitation promulgated by President Luis Arce’s governor calling for a blockade of tickets from this March.

The decision was taken by the National Health Council (Conasa), according to a press conference by the Executive Secretary of the Syndicato de Ramas Médicas (Sirmes) of La Paz, Fernando Romero.

The doctors questioning the Ley de Emergencia Sanitaria are considering that, among other aspects, the right to protest and to increase the possibility of contracting foreign professionals.

The governor has stated that he will not abrogate the norm and invites state physicians to participate in its regulation. Without embarrassment, health professionals reject the proposal by considering that the law is unconstitutional and has nothing to do with regulation, Romero said.

For its part, legislators from the Opposition Bank’s Ciudadana inform that the 26th of March will present an unconstitutional action against the Ley de Emergencia Sanitaria, considering that some articles violate the Constitution of the country.
