EXCLUSIVE: Following the news, Phoebe Waller-Bridge achieved the female lead in the next award Indiana Jones Lucasfilm has found Harrison Ford’s next co-star as Mads Mikkelsen plans to join the next installment. James Mangold takes over the reins of the reins from Steven Spielberg, who still serves as producer and is heavily involved in various elements of the film. Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel will join Spielberg as producers. John Williams, who has worked on every score in the 40-year-old franchise, including the iconic theme, will also return as a composer.
The hope is to start production this summer, with Mangold meeting other talent for other roles in preparation for production. The details of the plot are still vague about what new adventure awaits Jones, as well as the details about who Mikkelsen will play. The film will arrive on July 29, 2022.
The film is another big franchise that Mikkelsen walks into after joining the Fantastic animals franchise. Mikkelsen replaces Johnny Depp as Grindewald, who separated from the section earlier this year after his recent legal problems. Mikkelsen is also seeing some of the best reviews of his career in Danish film Another round, which recently won a handful of Oscar nominations, including Best Foreign Language Film and Best Director. At the BAFTAs, where Mikkelsen was nominated for Best Actor, the film won the award for best film, not in the English language.
