Lucille Ball’s daughter defends Nicole Kidman’s cast for Aaron Sorkin’s ‘Being the Ricardos’ deadline

Nearly hours after Deadline learned that Nicole Kidman is in negotiations to play Lucille Ball in Aaron Sorkin The Ricardos be, social media users challenged the cast. Ball and Desi Arnaz’s daughter, Lucie Arnaz, set the record on Sunday for who her mother will play.

“Stop arguing about who should play it – ‘she doesn’t look like her, her nose is not the same, she’s not that funny,'” Arnaz said, mocking the complaints surrounding the cast of Kidman. “Just trust us. It’s going to be a nice movie and ps the mood is over. ”

The daughter of the comedy legend addressed the cast in a Facebook video, where she also explained a lot about the upcoming project for Amazon Studios. She made it clear to viewers that the Sorkin title was not a I love Lucy recharge or something similar. Instead, it will follow Ball’s relationship with Desi Arnaz on screen and their relationship on and off screen.

She reassures fans of Ball and the iconic that there will be humor and romance.

“I do not think you will be disappointed,” she said.

Javier Bardem as Desi Arnaz is starring opposite Kidman’s Ball. The film will be shown during one production week of I love Lucy, when Lucy and Desi face a crisis that could end their careers and one that could end their marriage.

Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch will produce. Executive producers are Jenna Block, David Bloomfield of Escape Artists, Stuart Besser, Lucie Arnaz, Desi Arnaz, Jr. and Lauren Lohman.
