In 20 episodes of the program, Furlan starred Danielle Rousseau, a French scientist who had a shipwreck on the island sixteen years before the Oceanic Flight crash. She was killed in Season 4, with Furlan last seen in Lost‘s sixth and final season.
After the news of Furlan’s death, Lost executive producers / co-fans Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse paid tribute to the talented actress who has won numerous awards in Yugoslavia and Croatia.
Says Cuse, ‘Mira has endowed us all with her grace, intelligence and talents. She was an important person whose artistic gifts contributed so much to the definition of the mysteries of our show. She will really be missed. ”
In addition to Lost, Furlan is best known in the US for her role as Minbari Ambassador Delenn in another science series, Babylon 5.
