Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist Star Lauren Graham has revealed that her return to the NBC show may be shorter than originally planned.

The Gilmore Girls actress, who appears as the boss of the title character, Joan, would make a comeback in the second season of the NBC series. However, showrunner Austin Winsberg told TVLine that scheduling amid the Covid-19 pandemic became another hurdle when Graham reported to Disney +’s. Mighty Ducks, which began filming in March.
“But because of the pandemic and the way everything went down, their shooting program was at the same time as the shooting program of our program,” Winsberg told TVLine. “I planned for Joan to be in a number of episodes of the show, and unfortunately we just had to turn around because Lauren couldn’t do both at the same time.”
Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, starring Jane Levy, Skylar Austin and Alex Newell, returned to NBC on Tuesday night.
