Las Vegas Electric Daisy Carnival Security Plan Announced in May

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – The plan submitted by the organizers of the Electric Daisy Carnival was rejected.

The Nevada Department of Business and Industry has confirmed that it denies the security plan for the huge, three-day music festival because it does not meet the requirements of Directive 041 regarding capacity or social distance. The festival usually attracts about 200,000 participants a day.

They also confirmed that a new plan has not yet been submitted.

This year’s festival is scheduled for May 21-23 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Pasquale Rotella, CEO of Insomniac, said last month that it could be pushed back to November if necessary and that he would give an update on April 8 or earlier.

According to the plan, festival goers and employees were expected to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to enter the site. It is also said that there will be COVID-19 tracking dogs and that all participants must wear masks. In addition, quick tests will be available at the festival if needed.

According to the plan, the organizers of EDC did not feel that social distance is necessary because of the other requirements and because it is an outdoor event.
