Larry King’s cause of death is confirmed as sepsis, the underlying conditions appearing in the death certificate

Larry King’s cause of death and underlying conditions have been revealed.

The 87-year-old broadcasting legend passed away on January 23 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He had been admitted to hospital a few weeks earlier after contracting COVID-19, but a death certificate confirmed that his primary cause of death was sepsis, as his wife Shawn Southwick King said last month.

The death certificate also apparently shows that he had two underlying conditions. According to People magazine, the document is referred to as acute hypoxic respiratory failure and end-stage renal disease, commonly known as renal failure.

At the end of January, King’s wife – who was in the middle of the divorce – confirmed that he had not died of coronavirus.

“It was an infection; it was sepsis,” Shawn told Entertainment Tonight. “Well, he was finally ready to go, I’ll tell you that. You know, he never wanted to go, but his sweet body was just like that, it’s just hit so many times with so many things and as soon as we heard the word COVID, we all’s hearts just sank in. But he hit it, you know, he hit it, but it took its toll and then the unrelated infection finally took him, but boy, he would not undergo easily. ‘

Shawn also said that King’s thoughts were ‘not right’ and that his ‘body was moving’. King filed for divorce from the actress in August 2019 after 22 years of marriage. Their divorce was not finalized before his departure.

The document especially mentions his now deceased children Chaia and Andy, as well as his surviving children – Larry King, Jr. (59), Cannon (20) and Chance (21) – as beneficiaries.

Shawn was not named, and People magazine reported that the handwritten will was dated October 17, 2019, two months after he filed for a divorce from Shawn. His will was also written a few months before the loss of his two adult children Andy (65) and Chaia (51).

“This is my last will and testament. It should replace all previous writings. In case of my death, I want to distribute 100% of my funds equally among my children every day after the date above Andy, Chaia, Larry Jr. ., Chance & Cannon, “King states in the document, according to the magazine.

After Shawn was apparently left out of the will of her estranged husband, he spoke out and offered a brief statement to Extra.

Larry Jr. filed court documents requesting him to be appointed as special administrator of his father’s estate.
