Hundreds of local stores have been closed as the historic fallout from the winter storm continues to affect North Texas. Many large retailers appeal to customers to check the store hours before loading the stock.

As of Monday afternoon, 424 Walmart stores across Texas and other states were closed in the wake of the fierce winter storm, including dozens in North Texas.

“The safety of our employees and customers is our top priority. Walmart’s emergency operations center monitors winter storms and other possible disasters in real time. We assess the status of our facilities and will continue to operate as long as it is safe to do so,” he said. company said in a statement.
