Ken Jennings, Jeopardy! Champ And Soon Host apologizes for tweets – Deadline

Even the greatest of all times can sometimes misunderstand it. Jeopardy’s! Ken Jennings – who won the match’s tournament earlier this year to determine the best danger! champion of all time – has issued a tweeted stream of apologies for insensitive posts on social media he has made in the past.

Jennings’ tweeted apologies come as he prepares to start his run as the first Jeopardy! host to follow years of Jeopardy! master of ceremonies Alex Trebek, who passed away earlier this year after a period of 36 years.

Jennings’s Hosting Duties at Jeopardy! begins on January 11th. The search for a permanent host continues.

The tweets that gave rise to the apologies related to comments Jennings made in 2014 when he posted: ‘Nothing sadder than a hot person in a wheelchair.’

When someone made the remark again in 2018, Jennings responded on Twitter, saying: ‘I never hit an audience for this, but I personally apologized for angry / hurting people who reached out in person. It was a joke that was so inappropriate that it meant something completely different in my head [and] I regret the able reading of it. ”

Jennings also made several bad taste jokes on social media about a Star Wars fan, an 11-year-old Barron Trump, an elderly grandmother in mourning.
