Keanu Reeves stars in ‘BRZRKR’ movie and anime series on Netflix based on his comic books – Deadline

Netflix has the rights to BRZRKR, the TREE! Comics published by studios created by Keanu Reeves. Reeves starred and starred in the screen adaptations, beginning with the story that gets the feature treatment, followed by an anime spin-off series.

BRZRKR, based on an original idea by Reeves, was co-written by the John Wick star and New York Times bestselling author Matt Kindt and illustrated by Marvel artist Ron Garney with colors by Bill Crabtree, letters by Clem Robins, and character designs and covers by Rafael Grampá.

The first edition of the 12-number limited series launched on March 3 and has already sold more than 615,000. The story is about an immortal warrior’s 80,000-year-old battle through the ages. The man who is only called ‘B’ is half mortal and half god, cursed and forced into violence … even if he sacrifices his common sense. But after wandering through the earth for centuries, B may have finally found refuge – he works for the US government to make the fighting too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In return, B will get the one thing he wants – the truth about his endless bloodshed existence … and how to end it.

The series will be the BRZRKR universe by exploring different elements of the story, with Reeves recounting his role and making his character heard.

Reeves co-produced with Ross Richie and Stephen Christy for BOOM! Studios, premiered for live action and animated series with Netflix, as well as Stephen Hamel for Company Films. TREE! ‘S Adam Yoelin will serve as executive producer.

Reeves, who recently opened production on Matrix 4 and will start production John Wick 4 this spring is repeated by WME, Sugar23 and Ziffren.
