Justin Timberlake is brought into play by Britney Spears fans after the release of a new documentary about the ‘Toxic’ singer.
‘Framing Britney Spears’, a New York Times documentary, describes Spears’ life in the spotlight, including a mental health battle and a conservatory led by her father Jamie. One part of the captivating documentary focuses on Spears’ youthful romance with the NSYNC star in the early 00s – and its aftermath, which includes allegations that Spears cheated on Timberlake.
Timberlake sparked the story with the video for his 2002 song “Cry Me A River,” in which a blonde actress, who looks like Spears, sneaks around behind his back.
Diane Sawyer caused the flames to blow further when she interviewed Spears in 2003 and brought the then 22-year-old to tears.
‘You broke his heart, did something that caused him so much pain and suffering. What did you do? ”Sawyer hammered away at Spears.
Fans immediately went to Twitter to call out Timberlake after the doctor dropped.
“Justin Timberlake needs to get his apology ready …” one person wrote, while another remarked, “Watching Framing Britney Spears is a very easy way to get angry about misogyny, Justin Timberlake, and how we treat every girl and young woman in the spotlight. over the coals! ”
“Twenty-five minutes into the nyt britney doc in and ready to slowly pull out each of Justin Timberlake’s teeth with a wrench,” another angrily remarked.
The film follows the ongoing #FreeBritney campaign, a movement led by the ardent fans of the singer – the Britney Army – who feel she is being controlled by her father against her will. They held protests and made the case public on social media.
And now celebrities are also praising their support for Spears after the release of the film.
Sarah Jessica Parker and Better Midler both tweeted, “#FreeBritney. Khloé Kardashian tweeted her supportand calls Spears ‘Queen Britney’. Valerie Bertinelli calls the documentary a ‘gut punch’ and notes that there were ‘so many horrible men / leeches in her life’, including ‘Justin Timberlake’.
And Miley Cyrus shout her support during her TikTok Tailgate performance before the Super Bowl. The “Wrecking Ball” singer added Spears’ name to the lyrics of “Party in the USA” and told the audience, “We love Britney.”
The pop princess is currently embroiled in a legal battle with her father, who has been serving the conservatism of his daughter’s finances for more than a decade.
At a court hearing last year, Spears’ attorney, Samuel D. Ingham III, claimed that the “I’m a Slave 4 U” singer became afraid of her father and wanted him removed completely for her conservatory after he allegedly hired a new driver without consulting her.
The next court date on the battle for conservatism is on February 11th.
