Co-creator Marta Kauffman said, “Getting Julia Roberts was incredibly exciting.”
“We knew she would have the right touch for it,” Kauffman said. “And when she said yes, it was quite wonderful.”
That fax went a little further.
Alexa Junge, one of the show’s writers, said Roberts was interested in Perry from afar because he’s so charming.
“There was a lot of flirting about faxing,” she said. She gave him these questionnaires, such as, ‘Why should I go out with you? ‘And everyone in the writer’s room helped him explain to her why. ‘
Roberts and Perry reportedly went out shortly after her appearance in the program.
