Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez led a very famous relationship, but now the couple has reportedly said it will stop.

The 51-year-old superstar and the MLB star (45) started dating in February 2017 before becoming engaged in March 2019. However, it was reported on Friday that the couple had stopped their engagement.

“It’s been a long time coming,” a source told People magazine. “They’re stuck in their business worlds, so it’s not a cut-and-dry break. It took a while before they thought about unraveling it all.”

A-Rod had a lot of praise for JLo’s performance during President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ inauguration in late January – and noted that he could not “stop thinking about Wednesday and Jen’s performance at # Inauguration2021.”

Shortly before the inauguration, Lopez spoke to Andy Cohen in his radio program about why she’s thinking twice about walking down the aisle for the fourth time.

‘Oh yes, we talked [not getting married] it assures, “Lopez admitted in December.” I mean, at our age, we were both married before. It’s like we’m getting married? Should not we? What does this mean for us? And it’s just, it comes down to personal, like what do you want to do? There is definitely no rush. ‘

According to the Super Bowl series, they said ‘I do’ in Italy in June, but the pandemic closed their plans.

In late May, Lopez lamented how the coronavirus pandemic delayed the couple’s marriage.

“I’m a little sad because we had great plans, but I’m also like, you know what? God has a bigger plan, so we just have to wait and see,” she appeared in a video chat on the “Show Today.”

Lopez did not spend too much on what the A-list duo planned, but revealed that everything was quiet at the time.

“There is currently no planning. You just have to wait to see how it all plays out,” she explained. ‘It’s disappointing on one level, you know, after the Super Bowl and beyond [filming] “World of Dance” … I was going to take time off, and that’s what we’re doing right now. Both JLo and A-Rod went to Instagram in May to share sweet messages for each other in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

The same day, Rodriguez again shared a screenshot of himself and Lopez – this time they hugged on the couch with his head on her shoulder as she looked at her phone.

After JLo lost the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Movie to Laura Dern, A-Rod went to Instagram to share another heartfelt post to comfort Lopez.

“Jen, it does not take a trophy, medal or memorial plaque to identify a true champion,” he wrote. “For millions of young women who have watched you and been inspired and empowered to do amazing things in their lives, you are a champion.”

When JLo was filming ‘Hustlers’, ARod directed her to Instagram to give a heartfelt note about the work ethic of his former ex and noticed how proud he was of her.

“I will not play spoiler, but I can not wait until you all see how she transforms herself into a completely different character!” A-Rod wrote in the report. “She has been working so hard lately. I’m glad we were able to enjoy a quick break before she undertakes the new project.”

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rodriguez buzzed about Lopez about their relatively new relationship at the time.

“She’s really funny and amazing and she’s just magical. Everything she touches,” he said during the New York Fashion Week event. “I learned so much from her in such a short time.”

He also noted that his daughters liked Natasha (16) and Ella (12) of Lopez.

“My girls love Jennifer,” the baseball player said. “She’s an excellent role model and they want to do exactly what Jennifer does. They want to sing, they want to dance, they want to produce, they want to direct. Many people do not know she’s also a good athlete and a good business person, and to me, I am the happiest father in the world who could expose my beautiful daughters to someone as brilliant as Jennifer. ‘

When JLo and A-Rod first got in touch in 2017, the former couple fell head over heels for each other, as evidenced by JLo’s interview with Hola in 2017! USA where she brags about her ‘beautiful and different’ relationship with A-Rod.

“I have a good relationship,” Lopez said of Rodriguez. “I feel like I can say it for the first time – I do not know – maybe ever.”
