Jason Isbell apparently did everything. In addition to his Grammy-winning music career, he has accidentally played a role in the creation of the 30-50 wild pigs meme, and a song written for A Star Is Born it is probably the best Bradley Cooper solo track. And now he can add another major milestone to his extensive resume: to star in a Martin Scorsese film. Per Osage News, Isbell will make his acting debut in Scorsese’s adaptation of Killers Of The Flower Moon, with Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jesse Plemons.

According to Osage News, “The story contains an account of the systematic killings of Osage tribesmen in the 1920s and describes the birth of the Federal Bureau of Investigation that investigated the conspiracy to kill Osages because of their oil wealth.” The story is directed at the criminal mastermind William “Bill” Hale, played by De Niro. Isbell plays Bill Smith, who was the husband of Reta Smith, ‘Mollie Burkhart’s younger sister who is tragically killed when Bill Hale’s associates blow up her house with dynamite.’

He is also accompanied by fellow country star Sturgill Simpson, who will play Henry Grammer, “a notorious rodeo champion and bootlegger and good friend to Hale.” Simpson previously Queen & Slim and The hunt, so this is not his first film rodeo. Twilight Saga: Eclipsesee William Belleau in The Irish‘s Louis Cancelmi is also new additions to the cast.
