YouTuber JackFrags expressed his problems with the current state of Call of Duty Warzone in several categories.
Call of Duty Warzone is no stranger to controversy among its players, with the most recent methods of DMR and Diamatti. Involvement times decreased to near instant death at both long and short distances, leading to frustrating player experiences for players who did not level the weapons to a maximum.
Due to the current state of Warzone, YouTuber JackFrags took his opinion to his channel and mentioned several issues with the game in terms of gameplay and proper communication, saying that the game should do better than it currently does.
Communication
In his video, JackFrags pointed out that there is a serious lack of communication for a live service game like Warzone, which dates back to the initial release of the game.
Patch notes are often inaccurate or incomplete, leaving players confused about the actual game changes. In addition, it is currently unclear who is even developing Warzone. Is this Treyarch and Raven? Communication comes from both studios about Warzone, leading to further confusion.
JackFrags proposes as a possible solution to appoint a dedicated Warzone community manager or to have a separate social media account / blog specifically for Warzone. At least with this system we will have a consistent communication channel to check for updates.
Balance issues and game breaks
The weapons of Black Ops: Cold War were added to Warzone on December 15th. Since then, only two of the 30 weapons added have risen as Warzone champions as absurdly broken weapons. The DMR and Diamatti overshadow every weapon in the game, making it difficult to play without them in a load.
As for game-breaking mistakes and balancing, JackFrags noted that the statistics for Black Ops weapons in the Cold War are inaccurate and do not match the Modern Warfare design. Snipers in Modern Warfare, for example, have a look at the scope, while Black Ops snipers do not. In addition, anti-flinch attachments actually do the opposite, adding even more flinch to the weapon.
Fraud and competitive integrity
Cheats have historically been a problem in Warzone, and as their popularity has grown, so has their number. In response, Infinity Ward banned more than 70,000 fraudsters.
However, the new focus of ‘fraud’ lies in the form of competitive integrity. JackFrags points out that the most important issues right now are that players are trying to cheat the skill-based matchmaking system (SBMM) by using certain router settings to join regions with lower player skills, such as Oceania.
Players also reversed the easy games by deliberately performing poorly in matches to be placed against lower-skilled opponents.
In addition, players use a new app created by Overwolf to directly monitor the stats of all players in a game, giving players the opportunity to navigate for easier games to play.
Possible solutions
For solutions, JackFrags wants more transparency from the Call of Duty studios. He hopes we can communicate directly regarding the future of Warzone and updates regarding the current game meta and purposeful changes.
In combination with this, he also meant the possibility of a test server for Warzone, where players can test the upcoming games before being released to find faulty bugs and errors. In theory, this would lead to more polished spots.
In general, it seems that more communication may be the first step towards players that are more in line with the major changes being made in Warzone every few months. Hopefully we see that this becomes a reality in the future.
