Instagram adds ‘Recently Deleted Folder’ to protect against incorrect deletion of posts

This will make many Instagrammers very happy – the platform today adds a new ‘Recent Deleted’ folder that will allow users to recover any feed messages they deleted 30 days later.

Instagram recently deleted

As explained by Instagram:

‘Now you can review and repair deleted content in the Instagram app for the first time. […] Photos, videos, roles, IGTV Videos and stories you choose to delete are immediately removed from your account and recently removed to the directory. ‘

Given the short-lived nature of Stories, they do not last 30 days and remain in your folder folder for only 24 hours. But all the other things will be available in another month, which will give you enough time to repair IG masterpieces that have been incorrectly erased.

Or maybe, maliciously wiped out. Instagram also notes that many people who hacked their accounts ended up deleting their content as well, without repairing it.

We know that hackers sometimes delete content when they gain access to an account, and until now, people have had no way to easily get their photos and videos back. ‘

Recently, Deleted will make some use in this regard, but it will not completely solve the problem. Users can also still remove content from their recently deleted folder. If a hacker really wants it, they can go the extra mile to delete it and then remove your posts from the directory to ensure that your account is completely scorched. If that was their intention.

But Instagram also wants to address this with a new protection process to remove and restore content:

“From February 2, we will ask people to first verify that they are the correct account holders when they permanently delete or delete the content from Recently Deleted.”

So – today Instagram starts this new process.

To access your recently deleted folder, you must first update your Instagram app to the latest version. You will then access the guide by going to:

Settings> Account> Recently Deleted

From there, you can permanently delete and / or restore any posts at will.

This can be a handy add-on that gives your posts extra protection.
