HPD is looking for suspect who opened fire in N Houston, leaving two dead and 3 in hospital

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Police are looking for surveillance videos and witnesses after a shooting left two dead and three others in a hospital in north Houston.

Houston police say it happened next to East Whitney, where homes are located behind Kerr Park, not far from I-45.

When officers arrived there, they found two men dead and a third man, who was also shot, is still being held. He was rushed to hospital.

The video shows a Buick with bullet holes in the windows at the scene.

The two others who were shot, a man and a woman in a white Mercedes, were able to drive about half a mile further to Whataburger to get help.

“There are a few casings here on the scene in eastern Whitney … Their ages are not yet known. I mean, this scene just happened,” Lieutenant Christopher Bruce said. “We have officers now going there to talk to the victims to try to gather the information to see what the ages are.”

As for the shooter or shooter, no arrests were made. Police did not release any suspicious descriptions.

Police are looking for surveillance video in the area.

The Gun Violence Archive defines a mass shooting as a shooting with a minimum of four victims shot, either injured or killed, not any shooter who may also have been killed or injured in the incident.
