Tips for completing the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge in Pokémon Go

Here are some tips to help you catch up every day for the Valentine’s Day Gathering Challenge:

  • Since most Pokémon for the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge can be found in the wild, it’s a good idea to use Incense to increase your chances of finding these creatures.
  • You can also use a lure to lure Pokémon to a specific PokéStops; using the magnetic lure increases your chances of encountering Minum or Plusle, while the Mossy Lure attracts both the venom and the Pokémon of the bugs.
  • There are a number of Pokémon that you can only catch by defeating them in raids, so if you have any extra Remote Raid Passes, this is the time to use them.

  • To add both Latias and Latios to your collection challenge, you want to build dedicated teams that will help you defeat them in raids. Try to prevent your Pokémon from fainting during these raids, as this will reduce the amount of Premier Balls you receive.
  • If you’ve struggling to find Luvdisc in the wild, try hatching some of the 5km eggs you collect during the Valentine’s Day event.
  • During the Valentine’s Day event, there will be a number of field research tasks, which will reward you with some of the Pokémon from the Collection Challenge list. However, you need to visit a number of PokéStops to find the research task you need.

As you catch the required Pokémon, they are marked off from the Collection Challenge.

It is important to note that the development of a Pokémon will not count towards the Collection Challenge, which means that your Eevee will not be able to develop in Espeon or Umbreon. Instead, you have to catch them.

Remember – the Collection Challenge must be completed before the accompanying event ends and it disappears.
