Destiny 2
OBKatieKat
A new exploit is circulating in Destiny 2, and it’s time to try it out before it’s patched. Before you start yelling at me for talking about it, I know Bungie well already aware of this (many large streamers have already done so), such a solution is probably on the way. But until then, it’s time to have fun.
What is happening? The way it works is that you:
- 7-12 people’s fire pan in raids.
- 4-9 people firearms in dungeons and night falls.
I believe it was discovered a week or two ago, but it seems to be making the rounds only now. How do you do that? Here’s Cheese Forever talking about tactics if you want to see a video about it, but I’ll explain below:
In short, you need one fireteam to join another at zero seconds. This is the easiest thing to do on computers with connection codes, and you just need to lower the timing. For example, in a 12-person attack, you must have one fireteam of six with another fireteam of six along with a single invitation, representing the total separate group of six, if done correctly, for a total of 12 in the raid will pull. .
The same goes for Nightfalls and dungeons, only the cap there is 9, because you can only start it with a team of three. And that, of course, can be done by fewer players if you just want a fourth person to manage it or something. Again, this is all about timing. It can work on the console, it’s just harder to do and execute time due to the lack of connection codes, but you can accept invitations or connect there from grid. You want this time frame so that you participate a little before the activity is launched, because it takes a short time to join if you want to reach the “join at zero” point. If you have an abundance of people in a job, you are too early. If you are unable to participate in the activity, you are late.
This tactic of course makes all these activities cake, but it’s not like the current raids are that hard to get started with, so I do not think it does much harm. It’s not like it’s breaking a raid or that people use GM Nightfalls for insane rewards. That said, I do not expect this capability to hang around forever, so if you want to try it out for yourself, you should probably try it out quickly before using a hotfix.
So yeah, just a fun thing to experiment with. I would love to see Destiny increase its number of players and fire team size in the future, because I imagine things like loading 12 people for an altar of grief or a (public) escalation protocol, or of course Bungie a raid design intended to be in the first place for 12 people. I do not think it will probably happen, but if not, we can see how it can go with this exploitation (spoiler: it’s insane). Enjoy it.
