Hot bags are recalled due to possible contamination of glass and plastic

Nestlé Prepared Foods reminds certain pepperoni Hot Pockets about the concern that it could be contaminated with pieces of glass and hard plastic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s food safety and inspection service announced Friday.

The Class I revocation applies to 12-pack 54-ounce pepperoni hot packs with the best date on February 2022 and the codes 0318544624, 0319544614, 0320544614 and 0321544614. The establishment number “EST. 7721A” appears within the USDA certification mark . on the packaging.

Remember hot bags are best by February 2022.
A Class I reminder involves a “health hazard situation where there is a reasonable likelihood that use of the product will cause serious, adverse health or death consequences,” according to the USDA website.

About 762,615 pounds of the recalled Hot Pockets were sent to stores across the country.

The Food Safety and Inspection Service has four consumer complaints about foreign materials in the Hot Pockets.

One of the complaints includes a report of a minor oral injury, officials said.

Consumers who purchased the recalled product should throw it away or return it to the place of purchase, the Food Safety and Inspection Service said.
