Here’s what it’s like to investigate Trump after the election

While the task may seem daunting to most: “It’s no magic,” Dale, a CNN reporter and fact-teller, told Chief Media Correspondent Brian Stelter on “Reliable Sources” on Sunday. He noted that Trump “makes the same false and misleading allegations over and over again.”

According to Dale, Biden’s fact checking is a different experience.

“If Trump is lying, you probably know it,” Dale said. “If Biden were lying, you might not know it, because it might be new.”
“This president is a serial liar and he lied seriously tonight,” Dale told Anderson Cooper on Thursday on the fourth and final night of the Republican National Convention. Dale said he counted “more than twenty false or misleading allegations” from the RNC speech.

Dale says he is concerned that viewers are absorbing Trump’s misleading statements, and he hopes the fact – checked information breaks through.

“I think there are clearly millions of Americans who are not receptive to information that is contrary to their belief system, but I think there are millions,” he said. “Principal is important, even if we reach fewer people than before.”

Dale’s fact-checking strategy revolves around sticking to the ‘clearly false allegations’, he told Stelter. Dale was applauded for checking the claims last night from the RNC.

“I never thought about my breath before people started talking about it,” Dale said. “I was just determined to get it in quickly.”
