Yamila al Shanti was converted into the first female to be elected to form the Executive Board of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) during an internal process that lasted three weeks.
The Executive Director is the maximum body of decisions of the Palestinian Islamist organization and will be opposed by the first time with a woman. Al Shanti is licensed in English by the University of Egypt’s Ain Shams and has a Master’s degree and a Doctorate in Education from the Islamic University of Gaza.
