If you’ve been wondering why Rockstar drags its joint feet to release GTA 6, here’s a possible reason: GTA 5 may be seven years old, but it will still sell more than a million copies by 2020.
Even without the release of the “expanded and improved” subsequent versions – which are not expected to be released until mid-2021 – the Association of Entertainment Dealers reports that it is the third largest selling title in the UK FIFA 21 and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, move 1,127,222 copies (thanks, Unilad).
This means that it has sold even more than new versions such as Animal crossing: new horizons (810.5k), Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (665.8k) and The Last of Us Part II (539.2).
In related news, Prime Gaming is currently releasing up to $ 1 million GTA Online dollars in celebration of the new heist and tropical island location.
As we reported earlier this week, after claiming your reward, the cash in the game will be paid out $ 200,000 at a time to sign up each week; sign up for four weeks in a row and you will receive a $ 200,000 bonus, which adds up to a total of $ 1 million. You will also receive a free Sonar Station upgrade for the Kosatka Submarine as soon as you claim the offer, and you should expect the rewards to go through to your game within approximately 72 hours of activating it.
We’re still waiting to hear more about where the CTA series will be next time. As Connor summed up earlier this year, rumors have been circulating for years about how far GTA 6 is in development, but Rockstar Games remains silent on the subject. It’s safe to say that we’ll be getting there sometime – and until then we’ve got a new version of GTA 5 to keep us busy.
Rockstar Games has promised to give more content to GTA Online solo players in future updates.
