A woman returning home after an overnight service at work discovered her three young grandchildren who were fatally stabbed Saturday morning in an apartment complex in Reseda, and Los Angeles police detectives searched for a suspect.

The children’s grandmother reported the knife killings to police around 9:30 a.m., authorities said. According to various sources, she arrived home from work when she discovered the three children dead and their mother left.
