Stiff weather? Here still tight. Just like the relationship between black women and our hair, the situation involved our good sister Tessica Brown (also known as Gorilla Glue Girl, as she was not officially christened on social media) and her horrific hair disaster that went viral last week has also increased.

Last week we told you about Brown’s unfortunate circumstances regarding her hair and the permanent (not intended for hair) adhesive Gorilla Glue spray. If you missed this story in any way, allow me to summarize it in the simplest way for me. In essence, Miss Brown ran out of one hair product and thought that a completely different product would eventually give her the same effect. The good news? It has. The bad news? The product she used was not made for hair. Like not at all. As a result, Brown has been wearing the same hairstyle for about a month now, while the rest of the Twitter verses have now invested heavily in her journey to a new one.solution. Well, it looks like we have an update.

Via Brown is TikTok, the alleged 40-year-old teacher in Louisiana apparently went to the hospital over the weekend to see what, if anything, could be done to her hair. Photos posted on her official Instagram, which has now garnered more than 600,000 followers, show how Brown lay on a hospital bed with the remains of cotton wool, still stuck to her hair, and it could apparently mean that the treatment the hospital staff was trying to give her unfortunately did not work. Talk to Kiss 92.5 FM is Roz & Mocha, the Brown recounts her painful experience and says:

‘When I got into the emergency, when I got into bed, they had nail polish remover, salt water and they started with the back because I told her it was not so much spray in the back. When she [the healthcare worker] starts, it starts to burn, she takes the salt water and tries to cool it. It burned so badly that my heart started beating too fast. She told me it looks like she can do it, but it’s going to take at least 20 hours. I asked them, can I go home? I would at least be at home and comfortable instead of lying in a hospital bed to take everything out. “That’s what she did. Brown’s sister eventually tried to use the acetone wipes and saline to get rid of the glue, but the pain was too irritating for one of them to continue.

Since the original video appeared, Brown has had a GoFundMe and there was talks about her exploring her legal options as Gorilla Glue does not specifically warn against hair use. Gorilla Glue also issued an official statement about Brown’s mystery, as well as the fact that the label clearly warns against the use of skin, clothing or eyes (probably never guessing that they should add hair to the list) and this to social media and in a tweet said:

‘We are very sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident that Mrs Brown experienced while using our Spray Adhesive on her hair. We are pleased to see in her recent video that Miss Brown received medical treatment from her local medical institution and wish her all the best. ”

And all the cubs in Welpington remained cubs. I hope Miss Brown can get the help she so desperately needs.
