“Now everything has changed from me doing it for myself, to me doing it for her now, and I would rather have it,” she added. ‘She’s just my whole world now. She’s the sweetest, so it’s really cool to have her with me. ‘

The “I Hope” singer is still working on one of the biggest honors, single of the year, for her debut single. She is surrounded by Miranda Lambert, Carly Pearce, Ingrid Andress and Maren Morris in a category dominated by women, and feels only ‘excitement’, not nerves.

“Single of the Year is great for me, especially since it’s my first single, so it’s super duper cool,” she said. “All the other women are fantastic in the category, so I’m very excited for them. We’ll just have to watch and see, but I’m just very excited and everyone’s great songs, so it’s a win-win.”

The 2021 ACM Awards will be broadcast live from Nashville on Sunday from 8pm to 8pm on CBS and Paramount +.
