EDITOR’S NOTE (January 27, 2021, 22:00 ET): NBC News published an article earlier today reporting that a family foundation related to President Joe Biden’s senior director of cyber policy in the White House National Security Council over the past few years donated more than $ 500,000 to AIPAC, the largest pro-Israel lobby group in Washington.
After a number of readers addressed issues with this article, NBC News conducted a review and determined that it did not meet our reporting standards. To justify publication, it needed citations from critics rather than anonymous ones. The article should also contain more views from those who believe that donations to AIPAC are not a conflict. And that did not give Neuberger enough time to respond to our reporting.
