Fitness + new Apple fitness platform best technology for workouts

Health and fitness have always been central to the Apple Watch: walking and motion trackers, sleep recorders and hearing monitors are just the beginning. The Series 6 model has built-in sensors that can monitor your blood oxygen levels, and there’s also an ECG app to monitor your heart rate. And now, for the first time, Apple has launched an entry-based fitness service – powered by the Apple Watch.

Perfect fit: the ultimate equipment for your home gym

What is Fitness +?

A next-generation workout platform that combines studio-based guided workouts with the personal interactive experience of the Apple Watch. The pre-recorded fitness videos can be watched via iPhone, iPad or Apple TV – and while you work out your metrics, such as heart rate and calories burned, they are monitored by the watch and live on screen from your device.

What Apple devices do you need to use Fitness +?

To use Fitness +, you need an Apple Watch (Series 3 or later) and another Apple device to watch workout videos – be it an iPad, iPhone or Apple TV.

What workouts can you do?

There are ten different categories: high intensity interval training (HIIT), strength training, yoga, dance, core, cycling, treadmill (for running and walking) and rowing. There is also a remarkable cooling-off section, where an instructor guides you through gentle stretching and meditation – it is designed to play at the end of your workout. There are currently more than 200 different workouts on Fitness + and new ones are uploaded every Monday.

Are the workouts designed for the home?

In the midst of a pandemic, flexibility is the key to a sustainable fitness regime; Fitness + offers it. As long as you have access to an Apple device and wear an Apple watch, you can enjoy the workouts at home, in the gym or even in a hotel room or in the park.

Do you need access to gym equipment?

There are a plethora of classes available that require no equipment, such as core, dance and HIIT. To fully reap the benefits of the program, it is helpful to have access to a bicycle, a treadmill, a rowing machine or, at the very least, a set of dumbbells.

Is Fitness + suitable for beginners?

Very so. There is a specific section specifically designed for absolute beginners. These workouts have a low impact and are 10 or 20 minutes long, and although some beginner exercises use light dumbbells, it is also possible to do the entire beginner program without any equipment.

The main studio-based workouts are suitable for beginners as well as advanced fitness enthusiasts. Each class has at least three instructors on screen: there is an instructor who presents the class, an instructor who participates in the class, and a coach who shows an easier version of the same routine. If the workout gets too demanding at some point, there is always an easier way to try.

What distinguishes Fitness + from other workouts?

The Apple Watch is the most important distinction. Not only does it add an extra layer of interaction to the workouts through metics (such as heart rate and calories burned) on the screen of the device you are using, but it also connects the workouts you do on Fitness + with the rest of your daily routine. exercise.

The instructors are also an outstanding feature. There is a strong sense of inclusivity under the dynamic roster of coaches; for example, the instructors range from 20 to 60 and all trainers use sign language where possible to help users with hearing problems.

The music on Fitness + is central to the overall experience and motivational playlists have been carefully put together to suit every workout. Users can choose a workout based on the music genre – there are nine different styles to choose from: Latest Hits, Chill Vibes, Upbeat Anthems, Pure Dance, Throwback Hits, Everything Rock, Latin Grooves, Hip Hop / R & B and Top Country.
