Father woman stabbed by man selling fridge on Facebook Marketplace, police say

A Pennsylvania woman was stabbed to death by a man she met on Facebook when she tried to buy a refrigerator for her boyfriend, authorities said.

Denise Williams, 54, suffered a ‘violent death’ on Monday when she went to look at the device that was offered for sale on a Facebook market by a Geistown man, according to Jeff Lees, Coroner of Corria.

“She was having a fight,” Lees said at a news conference Wednesday. “It was a violent death she suffered.”

Joshua Gorgone, 26, allegedly admitted to stabbing Williams with a kitchen knife following an argument over the price of the refrigerator, according to WJAC charges

Investigators said Williams arranged at Gorgone’s apartment, with plans to buy his refrigerator as a gift for her boyfriend.

“She went there to look at the fridge and unfortunately never got out,” district attorney Greg Neugebauer told reporters.

Williams, who worked at a local hospital, was reported missing by her family Monday night.

Cops found her in his apartment Tuesday with multiple stab wounds. She died of ‘massive blood loss’, Lees said.

Gorgone has been charged with culpable homicide and two counts of aggravated assault.

The charges do not go to bail, which means he will be detained behind bars pending trial.
