With the intense fever fueled by Disney + / Marvel’s WandaVision and the anticipation of Friday’s debut of The falcon and the winter soldier, Marvel Studios’ president and chief creative officer Kevin Feige was asked again at the press conference today for the new series if a season 2 is already underway.
“We are asked (the question) a lot more on television, because people expect it to look like what they know before: where is season 2?” Feige said today, “We approached it like the movies: we have to make it better because we can not do another one.”
As for season 2, Feige simply said, “If we can do another one, there are definitely ideas,” however, he went on to emphasize the game plan that he has already set out, as WandaVision, who will continue his storyline in the sequel to the feature Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Marvel Disney + series and movies
will go back and forth ”between each other.

Similar to WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Takes place farm 2019s Avengers: Endgame. Captain America has passed away, and Anthony Mackie’s Falcon is taking up the shield while playing along with his partner Bucky Barnes, aka Winter Soldier, by Sebastian Stan. Series director and EP Kari Skogland explained that films such as the David Lean canon and Midnight Cowboy was an influence while Malcolm Spellman, the lead writer and EP, drew his inspiration for the series from buddy films such as 48 hours, peak time and the Naughty boys franchise.
“From the beginning, we made a six-hour long film,” Skogland said of the six-episode series.
The director explained that when the series was shut down due to Covid, “We went straight to the production and continued editing.”
“As the world changed, we were able to sharpen our focus. When we went back, we knew what we were going through. It did not change anything (plotwise), it just helped us focus, ”Skogland added.
Spellman explained that Thanos world of Avengers: Endgame, ‘Every villain will tell you they’re a hero. Heroes respond to it in their personal lives. ”
Stan says about the post-Endgame world of Winter Soldier, “The consequences of Steve going missing have thrown them (Falcon and Winter Soldier) into opposite angles in terms of their lives and their demons. They have different things they have to deal with, but they are in similar places in terms of the questions asked. ”
Why is Mackie’s Sam Wilson so reluctant to take up Captain America’s shield?
In essence, Captain America’s death leaves big shoes to fill.
‘That’s why he says at the end of Endgame, it feels like someone else’s, says Mackie about the shield.
“He was a fan just like everyone else,” the actor continued, “Sam Wilson was an ordinary man who only won the lottery because Black Widow knocked on his door and needed a place to hide.”
Then, in a blatant tease, Mackie blows out today:
“He fell in love and hoped to have a spinoff with Black Widow.”
Sounds like we just have to wait Black widow final credit order.
If the Marvel timeline stays afloat, Black widow will hit theaters on May 7, while the final episode for The falcon and the winter soldier will be on April 23rd. Black Widow dies in Endgame, so if there is a spin-off series, it will precede the eventsEndgame. That is, unless Black Widow is raised in some way.
