Losing your temper during a flight will hurt your wallet.
A passenger who allegedly punched a Delta flight attendant on a flight from Miami to Atlanta in October was hit with a proposed fine of $ 27,500.
Federal Aviation Administration officials announced the sentence Friday, ABC News reported.
The unnamed passenger on the Delta flight on Oct. 19 was traveling and sitting next to another passenger who refused to wear his mask, his tray or his seat belt, the FAA said.
Pilots returned the flight to the gate and flight attendants asked the two passengers to leave the plane.
“In response, the passenger accompanying the traveler did not ignore the flight attendant’s instructions, and the air hostess and other passengers began to proclaim and hit the air hostess under her left eye,” the FAA said.
The FAA said last month that it would strike rioting passengers without warning. They said fines could run up to $ 35,000 and that passengers could face jail time.
