ESPN dismisses Paul Pierce after a tumultuous Instagram video

ESPN fired NBA analyst Paul Pierce, a source confirmed to The Post.

The decision was made after Pierce posted tumultuous Instagram videos Friday showing him what marijuana looks like and pairing with scantily clad women who may have been strippers.

The news was first reported by Ryan Glasspiegel, Barrett Sports Media.

Pierce, 43, was a bit of a downturn on ESPN, but hung on to it enough where he regularly contributed to his top studio shows, “NBA Countdown” and “The Jump.” During a recent performance, he is on air and says the wrong team won. He was quickly corrected.

According to sources, ESPN was particularly captivating that Pierce chose to compile the videos on his own initiative. If he was taken up with the same activities and made known by someone else, he might have kept his job.

When the news broke Monday, Pierce took to Twitter and posted a four-second video which said, “Smile” and the message, “Big Things coming soon stay tuned, make sure you smile #Truthshallsetufree.”

Pierce is expected to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame this year.

ESPN, which declined to comment, has no plans to replace Pierce as he has a number of analysts he could turn to.
