Epic bothers new Fortnite Crew skin + paid matches?

Epic seems to have big plans for the future of the Fortnite Crew.

Launched at the start of season 5, Fortnite Crew is a monthly enrollment service that offers players a variety of in-game rewards. Every month, members receive an exclusive outfit and 1,000 V-Bucks. The package also provides access to the current Battle Pass.

The skins of December and January, Galaxia and Green Arrow, did a treat, but what comes next?

In a recent update, Epic Games revealed “We’re not quite ready to announce who’s in Crew Pack in February yet, but we can say it’s a new face from the world of Fortnite that players should look forward to!”, followed by fox-and-emoticons.

Although the wording in the statement above has left some people a little confused, fans have already started throwing in their guesses. It is not surprising that the fox emoji is the basis of most arguments, with popular suggestions including video game characters Starfox and Foxy, or alternative versions of existing outfits such as Drift and Fennix.

The developers also confirmed that all former, current and new Fortnite Crew members who sign up between now and February 15 will receive the Emote ‘Only Members’ for free. This is a thank you to everyone for the technical issues associated with the service.

Upcoming Fortnite Crew Benefits

Confidence leak @iFireMonkey shared an interesting section from a survey Epic Games recently sent to players regarding the Fortnite Crew subscription. The question asked users to arrange a selection of potential future rewards based on the most important order.

These benefits include:

  • Custom Match Options

  • Increasing number of players for Creative Islands

  • Increasing number of creative islands

  • Multi-month call options

  • Account profile flair

  • Cloud-based iteration with unlimited storage

  • Exclusive types of cosmetics

  • Monthly physical email address with additional rewards

  • Exclusive player experiences

  • Cosmetics that show subscription period

  • Donating subscriptions

  • Retail purchase options (for example, to be able to buy Fortnite Crew memberships in stores)

Based on this list, Epic has big plans for Fortnite Crew membership and wants to make it a more attractive offering. The community is divided over whether certain features, such as customization and a larger number of players in Creative behind a paywall, are fair, but it certainly seems like a great way to manage subscribers.

It will probably take a while before any of these new proposals are implemented, so it is now again trying to decipher the pesky fox.
