Eminem apparently hit back during a TikTok campaign to try and cancel him due to ‘problematic’ lyrics in one of his old songs.
The American rapper (48) appeared on the the popular social media app, after a series of videos highlighted a controversial line from his 2010 song Love The Way You Lie with Rihanna.
In the song, Eminem – whose real name is Marshall Mathers – reports: ‘I know I’m a liar, if I ever want to try to leave again, I’ll tie her to the bed and set this house on fire. ‘

TikTok users suggested that the lyrics glorify ‘domestic violence’ and called the song ‘problematic’.
One video says, ‘Yesssss let’s cancel him’, while another one writes, ‘No wonder I’m poisonous, I grew up listening to this song.’

He shared a clip of the track on Twitter in which he apparently addresses the scandal directly with lyrics that read: ‘I do not understand a word you say, I am deaf deaf. I think this way I prefer to stay, I’m deaf deaf.
‘I will not stop, even if my hair turns gray, I am deaf. Because they will not stop until they cancel me. ‘

The video for Love The Way You Lie, directed by Joseph Kahn, shows Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan playing a couple going through an abusive relationship.
At the time of the song’s release in 2010, Terry O’Neill, president of the National Organization for Women, said Rihanna was unknowingly glorifying domestic violence.
“She tells the story and does not judge it,” O’Neill said. “And therefore she may not intend to glorify it, but she is.”
Marjorie Gilberg, executive director of the violent group Break the Cycle, agrees.
“The danger is that pop culture determines our social norms,” she told AP.
‘We do not want the message of this song that this kind of relationship is acceptable.
“So this song should be seen in the context of real information from adults, such as parents and teachers.”
