CBS reporter Sharyn Alfonsi presented a far-reaching report for ’60 minutes’ on Sunday night criticizing the Florida vaccination. DeSantis turned down a request for an interview, Alfonsi said, but she caught up with him during an event south of Orlando.
“Publix, as you know, has donated $ 100,000 to your campaign and you are rewarding the exclusive rights to distribute the vaccine in Palm Beach,” Alfonsi told the governor.
“So what you’re saying is wrong,” DeSantis replied. “This is a fake story. I met the mayor. I met the administrator. I met all the people in Palm Beach County and I said, ‘Here are some options. We can do more drive-through sites. “We can give more to hospitals. We can do the Publix.” And they said, “We think that would be the easiest thing for our residents.”
Alfonsi has urged DeSantis, saying its critics say the unfair distribution of vaccines and the award of the contract to the grocery store to distribute the vaccine amounts to a scheme for pay.
“It’s wrong, it’s a fake story,” DeSantis said. “I just deprived you of the story and you do not care about the facts, because of course I only explained it to you in an irrefutable way. So it’s not clear.”
Alfonsi tried to get in again, but DeSantis shouted at her, “No no no, you’re wrong, you’re wrong, you’re wrong.”

Publix told ’60 Minutes’ that there was no link between the supermarket chain’s contributions and the partnership with the state to administer the vaccine.
State Representative Omari Hardy (D) told “60 Minutes” DeSantis’ decision to privatize the vaccine explosion does not work for coloreds in the state.
She pointed to one low-income community without a Publix, which means residents, including elderly residents, have to drive nearly 30 kilometers to get a vaccine.
“Before, I could call the director of public health. She would answer my calls. But if I now want to get my ingredients on how to get this vaccine, should I call a Publix lobbyist? It makes no sense,” he said. Hardy said. . “They are not accountable to the public.”
The allegations regarding Publix come because DeSantis is already under fire due to the deployment of the vaccine in Florida. He is accused of injecting the doses of vaccines into affluent, white communities and of sending pop-up vaccines to communities associated with political donors.
