Demi Lovato found herself in an icy situation.
The artist ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ captured a lot of levels on Sunday after admonishing the local frozen yogurt shop, The Bigg Chill, in the Los Angeles area for its abundance of sugar-free options and writing to her more than 100 million Instagram fans a popular small business has succumbed to ‘diet culture’.
Lovato, 28, fast forward to Monday, addressed the setback she received for comments she publicly shared from her exchange with the frozen yogurt shop.
While Lovato discussed the incident on Instagram Live, Lovato re-opened about her struggle with eating disorders and told her fans that her message was ‘misinterpreted’.

“I’m sorry I may have had the messages wrong. I’m sorry I disappointed some people,” she said.

Elsewhere in the video, Lovato said: ‘When I sent a message to this froyo place, I originally wanted to make a point and wanted to name behaviors or mark things that did not suit me. As someone who deals with an eating disorder and recovers from an eating disorder, I still have a hard time to this day walking into a froyo store, ordering yogurt and being content with it and sticking to it. ‘
“I know it does not seem like much to many people, but it is to me,” she continued, adding that while she was in the store, Lovato was not fully aware of certain ‘diet’ and ‘health foods’. “sacrifices were intended” for specific health needs. “

She further instructed the business to “please do better” and called the yogurt shop “#dietculture.”
The local body did not pay too much attention to Lovato’s criticism and responded to the singer.

“We are not diet vultures,” The Bigg Chill wrote in a direct message to Lovato – which she shared publicly. “We have been providing for all our customers’ needs for the past 36 years. We are sorry you found them offensive.”
On his own Instagram account, The Bigg Chill also wrote back to Lovato and tagged her social label.
“We carry items for diabetics, celiac disease, vegan and of course also have very indulgent items,” the frozen yogurt shop wrote.
But Lovato persisted Sunday, as she had the business’ attention, insisting that the sugar-free offering was actually just one of her problems with the business.

“Not only that. Your service was terrible. So rude,” Lovato smoked. “The whole experience was unleashing and awful. You can carry things for other people, while also taking care of another percentage of your customers who struggle EVERY day to step foot in your store.”
Lovato added: “You can find a way to provide an inviting environment for all people with different needs. Including eating disorders – one of the deadliest mental illnesses that is second only to opioids. [sic] overdoses, “Lovato added, referring to her overdose of drugs in 2018.” Do not make excuses, just do better. “
It seems the Bigg Chill had it with the singer “Dancing With the Devil” at the time when Lovato’s message was left on ‘read’.

Many people on social media responded to Lovato’s diatribe by hitting the star. “Demi lovato is terrible. She complains about a yogurt shop that has sugar-free cookies. She has to be the definition of pathetic,” wrote one person.
Another added critic: “Demi Lovato seriously complains that a yogurt shop has sugar-free options.”
Lovato is widely outspoken about her struggle with eating disorders such as Bulimia as well as overcoming drug use.

She noted in a recent documentary entitled “Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil” that she started participating in beauty pageants at a young age, which distorted her relationship with food and beauty.
In the document, it was revealed that Lovato had a relapse of eating disorder, which began during her “Tell Me You Love Me” tour in 2018 by exercising and controlling her food too much.

While on tour, people around her had to be tested regularly with drug tests and were apparently instructed by Lovato’s former team to be ‘careful’ about what and how they ate around her.
The owner of The Bigg Chill, Cary Russell, did not immediately return Fox News’ calls for comment.
