‘Dave Chappelle is placed in quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19. “His remaining performances at the Stubbs Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, TX, have been canceled and ticket holders must contact their point of purchase for a refund,” said a comedian. “Chappelle has been offering safe social distance in Ohio since June 2020 and he moved to Austin during the winter. Chappelle has implemented COVID-19 protocols that include rapid testing for the audience and daily testing for himself and his team. His diligent testing enabled him to respond immediately by placing him in quarantine, thus mitigating the spread of the virus. Chappelle is asymptomatic. ”
Live Nation was the producer of the shows, with solid access to $ 1,600 per table (plus taxes and unspecified fees) for a table for six people, or $ 1,400 for four people.
Chappelle would work with Joe Rogan for two nights. The other three dates were described as “Dave Chappelle and Friends”, but no details were given as to who would appear.
According to TMZ, which first reported on the positive test of Chappelle, he held the first of the five performances on Wednesday night in Austin, while the rest were scheduled for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
