‘Danger!’ contestant trolls host Aaron Rodgers over NFC Championship loss

“Danger!” It looks like host Aaron Rodgers was caught off guard after a contestant took the opportunity to dredge a painful memory from the past of the Green Bay Packers full-back.

In the “Final Jeopardy” round, Scott Shewfelt, contestant, did not answer the last clue about television personalities.

Instead, he asked Rodgers about a controversial field goal during the NFC Championship game last year against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which eventually ended the Packers season – and their ticket to the Super Bowl.

“Who wanted to kick that field goal?” Shewfelt wrote.

Rodgers initially looked stunned and shortly thereafter looked down at his face with a smile.

“It’s a great question,” he says, laughing. “Must be correct, but unfortunately for this game today, it’s wrong.”

Shewfelt’s brutal reaction was a non-subtle slap on Green Bay’s Army coach Matt LaFleur that has come under scrutiny since the Jan. 24 NFC title game.

With the Packers trailing 31-23 and a little over two minutes left in the fourth quarter, Green Bay had the ball fourth-and-goal from the 8th.

But instead of allowing Rodgers and his teammates, the former Hall of Fame full-back, to try and get a possible draw, LaFleur picked a field goal in hopes of Green Bay’s defense getting the ball back.

Instead, Tom Brady’s Bucs picked up two first downs and ran the clock for a 31-26 victory. Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl two weeks later.

Rodgers made his debut as host of the program on Monday. He is expected to host the next two weeks, according to the “Jeopardy!” website.

A series of hosts, including award-winning journalists and celebrities, have been announced after years of “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek died of cancer late last year.

Among the expected hosts are Anderson Cooper, CNN anchor, and Savannah Guthrie, co-host of the NBC program, TODAY.
