CVS Pharmacy Launches COVID-19 Vaccinations at 100 California Stores – NBC Bay Area

CVS Pharmacy will begin delivering COVID-19 vaccines at 100 locations in California, including in at least three Bay Area communities, on Feb. 11, as part of a rollout of 11 states, the company announced Tuesday.

The vaccinations will only be given to eligible populations and by appointment only, which will be available for booking as early as Feb. 9, as stores receive vaccines, the company said.

Among the areas in the Bay Area are those in Sunnyvale, San Francisco and Sonoma. The company said it plans to expand the program to more locations with the goal of delivering 20 to 25 million shots a month across the United States.

CVS Pharmacy announced Tuesday that it plans to vaccinate people in 100 locations in California. Janelle Wang reported.

“I’m going to have my doctor prescribe something because I’m a type 1 diabetic, so I need to get it now,” said Nicole Durkan of Sonoma. “It’s dangerous for me to just walk around, and I’m looking forward to it.”

Other places in California include those in Agoura Hills, Bakersfield, Carmel, Carlsbad, Chula Vista, Clovis, Eureka, Huntington Beach, Irvine, La Jolla, Los Angeles, Modesto, Monterey, Newport Beach, San Diego, Ventura and Yuba City.

The initial rollout in California is limited to about 81,900 doses, CVS said.

Patients must pre-register at CVS.com or through the CVS Pharmacy app, and people without online access can contact CVS Customer Service at 800-746-7287. Walk-in vaccinations without an appointment are not provided.
