Cuomo’s allegations of sexual harassment prompted Time’s Up to request ‘independent inquiry’

Accusations of sexual harassment against Andrew Cuomo, governor of New York, have asked the law firm Time’s Up to conduct an “independent investigation”, according to a statement issued by the president.

Cuomo’s former deputy secretary and special adviser Lindsey Boylan on Wednesday published an essay in which she claims that sexual misconduct was committed by the politician, who denied his camp.

Now Time’s Up, an organization that focuses on combating harassment, assault and discrimination against women in the workplace, has issued a statement in response.

“Allegations of inappropriate behavior in any workplace are very worrying and need to be addressed,” said Tina Tchen, president and CEO of the organization. “We call on the Cuomo government to immediately conduct a full and independent investigation into these claims.”

The Board of Time’s Up is occupied by a number of celebrities, including Eva Longoria, Ashley Judd and Jurnee Smollett.

The stars have not yet spoken publicly about the allegations against Cuomo. Fox News released their representatives for comment.

Meanwhile, Rose McGowan, the actress who became an activist, recently spoke to Fox News in support of Boylan.

ROSE MCGOWAN BACKS CUOMO ACCUSER LINDSEY BOYLAN, PRAY FOR INVESTIGATION OF ‘MONSTROUS’ CLAIMS

“I totally stand by Lindsey Boylan. The truth is leaking from every word on the screen she wrote,” McGowan told us. “She, none of us, has to endure what she has endured. What do they do to voters if they do this to her? What is he going to do about what he considers the little man? It’s monstrous. ‘

In her piece published on Wednesday, Boylan set out several specific cases in which Cuomo was allegedly engaging in inappropriate behavior. She wrote that she “complained to friends that the governor would do everything in his power to touch my lower back, arms and legs.”

“As we said earlier, Ms Boylan’s allegations of misconduct are simply false,” Cuito’s press secretary Caitlin Girouard said in a statement earlier.

In August 2019, Judd made a celebratory message on Facebook, writing that Cuomo “just signed part of the Time’s Up #NYSafetyAgenda.”
