A massive fire broke out on a cruise ship off the coast of Greece on Friday afternoon.
According to the Greek news website Kathimerini, smoke plumes have been seen flowing out of the MSC Lirica, which has been moored in a Corfu harbor since January.
MSC Cruises told the Post 211 crew members were on board the 2,300-capacity vessel when the fire broke out, but no one was injured.
The fire broke out in one of the ship’s fiberglass lifeboats and according to a preliminary investigation, the damage was contained to the starboard side of the ship, MSC said.
Footage shows how two lifeboats attached to the ship’s starboard caught fire before firefighters were able to respond to hell.
The cruise industry has been entrenched for months amid the coronavirus pandemic.
