Courage Production, LLC. Remember ready-made, fully cooked Polish sausage products due to incorrect brands and an unexplained allergen

WASHINGTON, JANUARY 2, 2021 – Courage Production, LLC., An establishment in Fairfield, California, is recalling approximately 1,645 pounds of ready-made, fully cooked Polish sausage products due to incorrect trademarks and an unexplained allergen. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products contain milk (mozzarella cheese), a well-known allergen that is not on the product label.

The sausage products labeled “TETON WATERS RANCH POLISH WORS” may contain a sausage product containing mozzarella cheese. The products were manufactured on 9 October 2020. The following products can be recalled [View Labels (PDF Only)]:

  • 10-ons. vacuum-packed packages of four “TETON WATERS RANCH POLISH WORS” with lot code “202831,” “Use or Freeze By: JAN / 8/21” date and establishment number Est. 6024 ”on the side of the packaging label.

These items were shipped to retail locations in California, Colorado, Indiana, Maryland, Maine, New York and Oregon.
The problem was discovered after the firm received a complaint from the customer that the product labeled ‘Teton Waters Ranch Polish Sausage’ contained red peppers, as well as mozzarella cheese, which was not included on the product label.

There are no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a medical provider.

FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased this product are requested not to consume it. These products must be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.

FSIS regularly conducts recall efficiency investigations to verify that recall firms are notifying their customers of the recall and that steps are being taken to ensure that the product is no longer available to consumers.
