Chicagoans in Phase 1B-Plus of State Vaccination Plan Now Eligible for United Center Appointments – NBC Chicago

On Sunday afternoon, the eligible for appointments at the Masses COVID Vaccination Center at the United Center for all Chicago residents who are 18 years or older and who already have health conditions.

In a significant change, appointments via Zocdoc will only be available to residents living in the city of Chicago. According to the Gov. Jitz Pritzker’s office, the change was made at the request of the Federal Emergency Management Association to better ensure that a vaccine appointment is available to ‘vulnerable populations’ in the city itself.

Anyone 18 years and older with underlying medical conditions, including cancer, diabetes, obesity and other medical conditions, may be eligible for appointments.

For suburban Cook County residents hoping to sign up for vaccinations at the United Center, the slots will be awarded later via the Cook County COVID vaccine website. According to officials, the process of applying for the appointments will be announced in the coming days.

Persons who do not have access to the website can call 833-308-1988 from 7 to 19 hours, according to officials.

Some of the remaining doses from the United Center’s mass vaccination site will also be given to mobile vaccination teams and, according to officials, made available in areas worst affected by the pandemic. More details about the sites will be made available in the coming weeks.
