Canadian MP apologizes after appearing naked during video conference

Will Amos, federal MP (MP) for Pontiac, Quebec, for the Liberal Party, can be seen as inappropriately dressed in a screenshot circulating online.

Co-MP Claude DeBellefeuille, of the Bloc Quebecois party, showed Amos’ indiscretion during question time.

“We saw a member dressed incorrectly during Question Time. It was not dressed. You have to remind the members, especially the male members, that costumes and ties are appropriate,” DeBellefeuille said according to the French translator in French.

‘We saw that the member was in a very good condition, but I think this member should be reminded of what is suitable and to control his camera.

House Speaker Anthony Rota responded to DeBellefeuille: “I would like to thank the Honorable Member for her comments,” Rota said. “I missed it.”

Amos then posted an apology on his Twitter account.

“I really made an unfortunate mistake today and I’m obviously embarrassed about it. My camera was accidentally turned on when I changed into work clothes after I went jogging,” reads the tweet.

‘I apologize to my colleagues in the house. It was an honest mistake + it will not happen again. ‘

Amos is a member of the Liberal Party of Canada, led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

CNN contacted Amos and the prime minister’s office for comment.

Canadian politician kicked out of parliament after calling opponent

In June 2020, the Canadian parliament again saw a controversy after the leader of the Canadian New Democratic Party, Jagmeet Singh, had to leave the building after calling another politician ‘racist’.

Singh made the accusation in the House of Commons after Alain Therrien, of the Bloc Québécois party, refused to support a motion asking parliament to recognize the existence of systemic racism in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Force.

Bloc Québécois tweeted to address the exchange, urging Singh to apologize for his remarks, which they said had “affected” Therrien’s reputation.
