UPDATE 2: Call of Duty Black Ops fans of the Cold War and Warzone are reportedly queuing up to access online multiplayer.

Judging by the latest posts on social media, Call of Duty servers are experiencing a huge amount and players are being put in a queue.

While not ideal, it feels like there’s some light at the end of the tunnel for fans waiting to enter a match.

UPDATE: Microsoft has released a new update on the Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone server issues.

Microsoft encourages gamers to check the Xbox status page for updates on Call of Duty server issues.

“We are aware that users may experience issues playing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. We will update here and there xbox.com/status when we have more information to share! “

ORIGINALLY: Call of Duty servers have apparently gone down, leaving thousands of fans unable to enjoy multiplayer.

The Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone server status makes grim readings for fans, who have complained about not having access to multiplayer.

The independent website Down Detector has received more than a thousand reports that Call of Duty is not working.

The interrupt detection monitors social alerts around certain topics to detect when services around the world are declining.

The Down Detector breakdown map shows that the Call of Duty issues affect users in the UK, Europe and the US.

Fans trying to log in are greeted by a message indicating that servers may be maintained.

“Cannot connect to Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War online services”, reads the login page.

“The servers may be down, or you may experience a network outage. Please try again later.”

Activision is currently investigating the issue and recommends that computer users clean their cabinets.

“Hello there! Sorry to hear about your issues. Can you try to clear the cache to see if it helps https://bit.ly/2NpJLMn. If it does not work, DM your Activision ID, e- mail, platform and Gamertag when you get the chance. ‘

Needless to say, fans have expressed their opinion on the server issues online.

“I affixed my 2xp and 2xp firearms just minutes before it went off,” one fan tweeted.

“Well. Call of Duty is off. I think today’s a video editing day,” tweeted another.

The news comes a few days after it was suggested that Call of Duty Warzone Season 2 can end with a secret new mode.

According to reports, the Verdansk map could be bombed under a hail of nuclear weapons.

Some fans found audio files containing references to Danish is overrun by Zombies.

The new plague zones are likely to be inhabited by Undead creatures and may include players having to film before being overrun.
