Browns lead NFL in running salary caps

Earlier today, the NFL Players Association announced (via Twitter) the transfer of the salary cap for all 32 NFL teams for the 2021 season. Effectively, teams can overthrow their unused cap from last season. If the numbers of the salary ceilings become official in 2021, it can therefore be added to the transfer amount of each team to determine the official limit of the club for 2021.

This follows the news earlier today that the NFL has raised its salary cap level to $ 180MM by 2021. This total could lead us to the maximum salary cap, which could eventually end up north of $ 190MM. The salary cap was $ 198.2 million for the 2020 campaign.

As the NFLPA has outlined, the league will shed $ 315.1MM from the 2020 season, averaging $ 9.8MM per team. The Browns lead the league with an almighty $ 30.4MM, and they are the only team in the top five to reach the playoffs. The NFC East ($ 68.8MM) and AFC East ($ 65.3MM) are the two divisions that have the largest transfer amounts.
