Broward County COVID-19 Vaccination Portal Resumes Planning Appointments – NBC 6 South Florida

Broward County’s vaccination schedule against Covid is back online after the site was disrupted last week following a huge demand for appointments.

The portal allows residents 65 and older to make an appointment to receive the vaccine for free.

When the site went live last week, all the slots were quickly booked until February, and the portal went through interruptions.

“Thank you for your patience during this time,” reads a press release from the Florida Department of Health.

The department has also called on elderly citizens to visit the site regularly as they increase the number of vaccination sites for the elderly in the coming weeks.

Drive-through vaccination sites are also available. Appointments cannot be made by telephone.

‘We are sorry that the registration system does not work as we intended. We realize that our Senior Community is eager to receive the vaccine, ‘said dr. Paula Thaqi, director of the Florida Department of Health in Broward, said last week.

‘Please know that this is just the beginning of COVID-19 vaccination opportunities. As the local vaccine supply increases, DOH-Broward and our partners are ready to vaccinate individuals aged 65 and over, as well as additional priority groups as identified. ”
