The cast of Brooklyn Nine-Nine took to social media to reflect on the announcement of the final season of NBC.
The network revealed on Thursday that the Andy Samberg comedy will end its death-defying twist at the end of Season 8, which has been moved to the 2021-22 TV season. The farewell season consists of just ten deliveries, which will be the shortest season so far.
At the time, executive producer Dan Goor issued a statement of his own, which read in part: ‘I’m so grateful to NBC and Universal Television that we were able to give these characters and fans the end they deserve … a difficult decision, but in the end we thought it was the best way to honor the characters, the story and our viewers. I know some people will be disappointed that it will end so soon, but honestly, I’m thankful that it took so long. Title of my sex band. ”
In response to Goor’s statement, Dirk Blocker (Hitchcock) wrote, “I love this guy, I love this group, and I like that I got to be a part of this.” In a later tweet The actor celebrated some of Hitchcock and Scully’s best moments and said, ‘What a joy this run was. Best mate, best ensemble, best writers, best crew members, best fans! ”
Melissa Fumero, who has played Type A-Amy Santiago since the show’s debut, wrote that the portrayal of her character ‘was one of the greatest joys and honors of my life … I’m so grateful to be able to take a victory with our beloved cast and team. To our wonderful fans, we love you. No tears for now, we still have a whole season to shoot! ”
And Terry Crews, aka Lieutenant Terry Jeffords, also shared his gratitude for showing the show in a tweet: “I am sad that it will end, but glad that I had the chance to be part of something so special.”
NBC earlier confirmed this co-working sitcom Superstore after six seasons would end. The final one-hour final series will air on Thursday, March 25th.
