Britney Spears’ conservatory dominated the headlines this week following the release of the controversial New York Times documentary Framing Britney Spears.

The timing of the release was coincidental, as the 39-year-old pop star’s lengthy conservatory case went to court again on Thursday.

Spears has fought for more autonomy in her life, trying to remove control from her father, Jamie Spears, who has been running for more than a decade.

While The Toxic singer did not address the documentary directly, she used Twitter to seemingly suggest that there was much more to her story than Framing provided Britney Spears.

“Remember, no matter what we know about a person’s life, it’s nothing compared to the person living behind the lens,” she tweeted.

An important motivation for the changes Britney wants in her legal status seems to be her desire to stop acting.

In November, a pop sensation lawyer told a court that Britney was afraid of her father and refused to act again until he was removed as her conservator.

“My client told me she was afraid of her father,” Britney’s lawyer Samuel D. Ingham told a judge during a hearing to determine whether another conservator should be appointed. “She also said she would not act as long as her father was in charge of her career.”

The Circus singer has not performed live since October 2018 when she closed the final legs of her Piece of Me Tour after ending her residency in Las Vegas on December 31, 2017.

In another tweet this week, it appears Spears is addressing these reports and insisting that while she likes to be on stage, she ‘takes the time to learn and be normal’ and ‘the basics of everyday life’ to enjoy life ‘.
