EXCLUSIVE: Billy Bob Thornton, Alfre Woodard and Bridgerton the breakout Regé-Jean Page rounded off the cast of the Russo Brothers’ The Gray Man in the lead role Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and Ana De Armas. Wagner Moura, Jessica Henwick, Dhanush and Julia Butters are also on board.
Joe and Anthony Russo have been developing the project at Sony for some time, and when the package hits the market again this summer, Netflix is rapidly acquiring it and starring Gosling and Evans. The Gray Man will be the film with the biggest budget in Netflix’s history.
Production begins in two weeks in Los Angeles. The film is part of the strong partnership that Netflix and AGBO have achieved over the past year Withdrawal, which last April had its first viewer numbers in the history of the streamer. They also worked on critics Mosul, which aired on Netflix in November.

The Russians wrote the screenplay, with a recent polish by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The Russos and Mike Larocca will produce on behalf of AGBO along with Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum and Chris Castaldi through their Roth Kirschenbaum banner.

The gray man is based on the debut novel by Mark Greaney, published in 2009 by Jove Books. It is also the first novel with the Gray Man, freelance killer and former CIA operator Court Gentry. The action thriller follows Gentry (Gosling) as he is hunted around the world by Lloyd Hansen (Evans), a former group at the CIA. The film is based on the first installment of the book series.
Thornton recently reworked the production in the fourth season of its Amazon series Goliath.was He was also recently seen in the Sam Taylor-Johnson drama A million little pieces. He is awarded by WME, Media Talent Group and Myman Greenspan.
Page is best known for his breakout role in the Netflix series Bridgerton, which earned him a SAG and a NAACP Image Award name for his individual performances, and recently starred in the Paramount’s untitled Dungeons & Dragons pic. He also appeared in the Amazon photo Sylvie’s love. He is fascinated by CAA, Mosaic, The Artists Partnership and Ziffren Brittenham.
Woodard recently received excellent reviews for the play Mercy. She can be seen next in Sony Paternity opposite Kevin Hart. She is fascinated by ICM Partners, Circle of Confusion and Gochman Law.
The Russos and AGBO’s next film Cherry Tom Holland plays and bends March 12 on Apple TV +. They are repeated by CAA.
